ABOUT US

OMLP is a family-owned company founded in 1969 by Renzo Toscani, who over the years passed the baton to his son Leonardo and later to his nephew Marco.

Our roots are deeply embedded in the history of the industry that characterized the central-northern Italy in the 1970s, from Tuscany to Veneto, from Marche to Lombardy. We built machinery from scratch for the brick industry – our products were widely used in brick kilns – and for paper mills.

In the 1990s, the declining demand in these sectors prompted us to specialize, becoming a reference point for industries with specific requirements for large-sized and variable quantity pieces.

During those years, our business structure also evolved: from a family enterprise, we transitioned to a SAS (Società in Accomandita Semplice) in 1991, when Leonardo joined the company, and Renzo made way for the new generations.

At the beginning of the 2000s, we became subcontractors and structured ourselves with two well-defined departments: on one side, metal carpentry, and on the other, the mechanical workshop equipped with specific machining tools.

In 2006, there was a new entry into the company: Marco completed his studies and joined the team, which he had known for some time. It would take another 9 years for another family member to join the company: it was 2015, and Nadia, Marco’s sister, entered the business.

The factory also saw new arrivals: in 2007, we added the Mazak machining center, which allowed us to increase production, and more recently, a Tos boring machine and a CMZ lathe.

In 2019, we celebrated the prestigious milestone of the fiftieth year since the foundation together with a team that exceeds 10 people. On that occasion, we recalled that the acronym OMLP stood for Officine Meccaniche Laterizi Padani (Mechanical Workshops for Padanian Bricks) at its inception, but in recent years, it has taken on more the connotation of Officine Meccaniche Lavorazioni Pesanti (Mechanical Workshops for Heavy Processing).

Our family-run model allows us to have a direct relationship with customers, suppliers, and workers: direct exchange in a friendly atmosphere allows us to shorten the chain from order to production with evident advantages for all parties involved.

We want to look to the future with enthusiasm, increasing the works that involve us directly at the design level.
